Figg</I>, although my favorite civil war children's book from recent years is Mary E. Lyons' and Muriel Branch's <I>Dear Ellen Bee: A Civil War Scrapbook of Two Union Spies</I>. It's a fictional account of the two real life women -- a wealthy Southern lady and her freed slave -- who ended up working together as spies for the Union Army.
